Today, December 16, 2024, the Town of Fort Myers Beach clarified the revocation of the Temporary Use Permit, during the Town Council Meeting!

Per FEMA, the Town is required to revoke Temporary Use Permits from structures that do not comply with FEMA regulations. All eleven (11) structures that do not comply have been notified via Notice of Violation – if your property has not been notified, your Temporary Use Permit will not be revoked. Residential recreational vehicles, on wheels, that can be removed with a light duty truck or driven away, do not fall under this category and will not be removed from the Island. 

Should we receive further guidance from FEMA contradictory to this information, these regulations may be adjusted.
