On Tuesday December 6th, at 10 AM, the Fort Myers Beach LPA will discuss amendments to the building setbacks for corner lots. The current land development code requires a corner lot to have two, 25-foot street setbacks, in addition to a side setback (15% of lot width) and a rear setback (20 ft or 25 ft). These setbacks cause some lots to be difficult to develop and owners of smaller lots often request a variance to build a reasonable size home. The LPA will discuss amendments to the development code to decrease one of the street setbacks.
