The Keep Lee County Beautiful Marine Cleanup is an annual event during which volunteers go out ion the water in their personal watercraft to remove monofilament fishing line and other harmful debris from mangrove areas of Lee County.
Because of the focus on fishing line, the cleanup event is referred to “Monofilament Madness”.
The cleanup is from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. with a volunteer appreciation lunch sponsored by Sam Galloway Ford served at Noon at The Mound House.
