[ARCHIVED] Please keep the beach dark at night for the turtles

sea turtle hatchling august 2020

Sea turtles like this cute little guy are hatching and they need you to please do your part to help them get to the water by keeping our beach dark. Draw your curtains after sunset and turn off any white lights that are visible from the beach. This hatchling was found swimming in a storm sewer a couple days after he left the nest. He was disoriented as he left the nest because of interior lights that did not have curtains, and he went toward them instead of the beach. He has been checked into #CROWClinic (http://www.crowclinic.org/) for rest and fluids. Once he is better, if he passes a swim test, he will be released into the Gulf.
