[ARCHIVED] North Estero Boulevard Drainage Project Update Newsletter

Good News! After years of planning and the pursuit of funding the North Estero Blvd. renovation project is moving closer to construction commencement. The project scope includes the complete renovation of the North Estero Blvd. right-of-way corridor. The entire stretch from Times Square at Old San Carlos Blvd to Bowditch Point will be renovated. The improvements will include the following:
- Installation of storm water drainage infrastructure and storm water quality improvements;
- Replacement of the potable water mains, associated valves, service connections and relocation of fire hydrants;
- New street section, with new pavement, sidewalks, curbs, bike lanes, trolley stops, driveway entrances, landscaping and signage.

This newsletter will be used to periodically update you on the project status and any issues that may arise from time to time. The newsletter will be posted on the Town’s website, and available at Town Hall, to ensure it remains timely, keeps mailing costs down and uses less natural resources.

Current Status

With the completion of engineering and permitting the project went out to bid on June 19th.

Upcoming Activities

A mandatory pre-bid meeting for all prospective bidders will be held at Town Hall on July 16th at 10AM. The bid opening is scheduled on August 5th at 2PM. It is planned that the bid award will go before the Town Council for their approval approximately 2 weeks later. Upon award, Town staff will negotiate with the successful bidder to establish to project start date. Once the Notice to Proceed is issued, the project is scheduled to take approximately 12 months to complete.
