Funding is still available in the FDEP Hurricane Restoration Reimbursement Grant Program for qualifying beachfront residential properties to help remedy coastal erosion caused by Hurricane Ian.
The FDEP HRR Grant Program applies to single-family homes, multi-family homes (up to four units), residential condominiums and cooperatives. It provides reimbursement grants up to $300,000 per parcel for armoring projects on eligible single family or multi-family residential property and $600,000 for armoring projects on eligible residential condominium or cooperative properties with a 50/50 cost share with the property owner. Costs for sand placement projects shall be reimbursed at 100 percent of the total construction cost. The activity must be permitted prior to implementation, be related to sand placement, temporary or permanent armoring and have occurred after Sept. 23, 2022.
