Section 13.03 of the Town of Fort Myers Beach Charter ("CRC") provides for the creation of a five-member Charter Review Commission, which plays a vital role in ensuring the Town's Charter remains effective and relevant to the needs of the community. The CRC meets once every 10 years to review the current Charter, suggest potential amendments, and propose updates as needed. Membership of the CRC is by appointment by the Town Council.

What is the purpose of the Town Charter?
This charter is ordained and established by the people of the Town of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, to promote the general welfare and common good of the community by providing the framework for a municipal corporation to exercise municipal home rule powers under the Constitution and laws of the State of Florida.
