Gumbo Limbo is the Town's official treeIn time for Earth Day on April 22, Town Council passed a resolution at the April 19 meeting affirming the Gumbo Limbo as the official Town Tree. Considered one of the best native trees in Florida, the Gumbo Limbo grows tall and strong and is weather-resilient. It is also commonly known as "the tourist tree" because the bark turns red and peels off like a sunburned tourist. A new Gumbo Limbo has been planted in front of Town Hall and at some Beach Accesses.
