COVID vaccinations reservation system closed, will reopen when more doses available
Please do not call the reservation line for now

Federal Department of Health (FDOH) and Lee County will announce when additional vaccine doses are available and the reservation line reopens. Keep up on this information at www.leegov.com/vaccine.

According to the FDOH and Lee County, the state’s call center vendor for COVID-19 vaccinations for seniors and front-line medical workers captured more than 10,000 phone calls in 11 minutes earlier this week when its new reservation line opened.

Vaccinations by reservation will continue next Tuesday and Wednesday but only for the additional callers from earlier in the week, most of whom now have been pre-registered by the vendor.

The phone line for reservations is currently closed and remains closed. Residents are asked to not dial the call center.

Free seasonal trolley running again

New tram stop at Bay Street & Estero Boulevard

The seasonal free open-air tram operated by LeeTran is running again on Fort Myers Beach!

The Tram goes from Bowditch Point Park to Matanzas Pass Preserve. The open-air, multi-car trams provide an easy, fun way to travel along the beach from hotels to restaurants, to shopping and other attractions.

The trams are an additional transportation service on Fort Myers Beach, supplementing the trolley and bus services that are also provided by LeeTran.

The beach tram service will include three trams and is estimated to run every 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Tram service will run seven days a week starting at 8 a.m. at Bowditch Park with the last pickup at 11:30 p.m. at Matanzas Pass Preserve.

The Town is grateful that a new tram station has been constructed at Bay Road and Estero Boulevard, on the south side of the library, across from Sea Grape Plaza.
