Infants & Toddlers (Ages 3 and Younger): 

• Parent or guardian attends the lesson and gets into the pool with their child
• The primary focus of this class is to get the child comfortable in the water (also called “water adjustment”). The child learns how to enter and exit the pool using the ladder or stairs and the wall. They may begin learning how to kick and use their arms.

Level One (All Ages):

• For children and adults who do not know how to swim
• Participant attends the classes without a parent/guardian/partner
• The class teaches the participant how to enter and exit the pool by the ladder or stairs and the wall and helps them get adjusted to the water.
• Participants taught to kick, use their arms and put their face in the water. The instructors will work to help the participant be comfortable enough and have adequate skills to retrieve a toy from the bottom of the pool or the stairs with assistance.

Level Two (All Ages):

• For children and adults who are able to swim 25 yards and that know freestyle
• Participant attends the classes without a parent/guardian/partner
• The class will teach the participant stroke refinement for freestyle, as well as an introduction to backstroke, breaststroke and fly.
• Participants will be able to retrieve a toy under water without assistance.

 
Level Three (All Ages):

• For children and adults who are able to swim 50 yards and that know freestyle; participant has some ability and knowledge of skills for backstroke, breaststroke and fly
• Participant attends the classes without a parent/guardian/partner
• The class will teach the participant stroke refinement for backstroke, breaststroke and fly.
• Participants will be able to retrieve a toy under 5 feet of water without assistance.

Adults: $30.00 for one session, which consists of 6 swim lessons

Children Ages 17 and Younger: $15.00 for one session, which consists of 6 swim lessons: The Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers Beach will be paying 50% of the fee for any child that would like to participate. This opportunity is being offered through their “Every Child a Swimmer” program.
