The New Dinghy Dock is Complete! A public ribbon-cutting
ceremony is set for Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. for the Town of
Fort Myers Beach’s new municipal dinghy dock. The dock is the latest amenity added
to the Town’s mooring field. During the ceremony, Mayor Dennis C. Boback will give
a speech after arriving at the dock in a dinghy piloted by Councilman Bill
Shenko, Jr. Jim Rodwell, Chairman of the Anchorage Advisory Committee will also
say a few words. Refreshments will be served after the speeches on a
first-come, first-served basis. Also available for public
viewing will be the recently upgraded showers, laundry facility/common area
provided to mooring field patrons by the Town’s Upland Service Provider,
Matanzas Inn. The mooring field boasts 70 mooring balls available for rental year-round
at $13/day or $260/month. The rental fee includes use of the shower and laundry
facilities and pump-out service. The dinghy dock is available for public use to
tie up dinghies 10’ or less (no overnight tie-ups). To learn more about the
