The Matanzas Pass Bridge will be CLOSED on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM for the Fort Myers Beach Lions Club Shrimp Festival 5K and Parade!

The pedestrian sidewalk will be open - bicyclists must walk their bikes using the sidewalk.

Storage Building Purchased for Fort Myers Beach Elementary School

The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club obtained donations for the purchase of a storage unit for Fort Myers Beach Elementary School. This storage unit was delivered to the school on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 11:00am.

This storage unit will give the faculty and staff at Fort Myers Beach Elementary School more space for their supplies, providing extra room in their classrooms for teaching and activities! 

Dr. Kohler stated, “A very special thank you to the Woman’s Club for recognizing and supporting a need at Fort Myers Beach Elementary. This unit will help store our curriculum materials and other equipment to support our Water School future focus!”

Lee County Domestic Animal Services is celebrating “St. Pawtrick’s Day”


Lee County Domestic Animal Services invites you to celebrate “St. Pawtrick’s Day” throughout the entire month of March with reduced adoption fees. 

All dog adoptions are just $20 and cats/kittens $30 

with an approved application.

The adoption package includes spay or neuter, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, county license and a 10-day health guarantee. That is a $600 package. A team of staff and volunteers are waiting to introduce a new four-legged family members. Stop by the adoption center Monday through Saturday between 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

The shelter, located at 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, is open for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are available to help adopters select the pet that is best suited for their lifestyle and family.

Only manual bikes can share the sidewalks and beach with pedestrians.

Per Ordinance 22-04, Electric Bikes, Scooters, Skateboards are prohibited on any public sidewalk, path, or beach.

Electric bikes can ONLY be used on the road in the bike lane, not on the beach or sidewalks.
