We are keeping a close eye on the tropical weather outlook for the week of August 28.

Please stay connected to multiple ways of receiving news and information during weather and other emergencies.

Here are some ways:

  1. Sign up to receive alerts from the Lee County Emergency Operations Center

  2. Sign up for alerts from the Town of Fort Myers Beach Code Red system

  3. Sign up to receive text and/or email alerts as they are posted on the Town of Fort Myers Beach website homepage

  4. Monitor the Town's Facebook and Twitter social media outlets. The Town's experience has been that Facebook remains the most reliable in a situation where cell and internet service is spotty. Beach Talk Radio is another Facebook page that the Town will ask to spread messages.

  5. Monitor local media and their social media outlets. Don't forget radio! WGCU 90.1 FM will be a radio station that the Town will use to share messages. You can also listen live on WGCU's website.

  6. Monitor the social media outlets of Lee County, the Lee County Sheriff's Office, and the Fort Myers Beach Fire District
