[ARCHIVED] VESSELS IN THE MOORING FIELD, MUST BE REMOVED NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 6, 2022

Logo Description automatically generatedBoaters

At this time, the Town of Fort Myers Beach has temporarily closed the mooring field due to the impacts of Hurricane Ian. If you have a vessel in the mooring field, it must be removed no later than November 6, 2022, so the Town may inspect and refurbish all mooring systems before the Town can provide standard and safe moorings services.   Furthermore, the Town does not have water, restrooms, pump out services, or any public docking available at this time.   Please remember, accessing the island using private docks is not only unsafe, but also illegal.  The Town is working on getting the mooring field and upland services restored as quickly as possible, but until then all vessels MUST VACATE THE MOORING FIELD IMMEDIATELY for your safety and the safety of others.   You are welcome to anchor in the waters clear of any navigable channel waterway but be aware of underwater obstructions. If you are unsure of the location of the navigable water channel or underwater obstructions, please use a tow company to escort you into open waters. We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but currently the Town does not have the ability to maintain a safe mooring field.
