[ARCHIVED] Islanders needed for Town boards and committees

Are you a resident of the Town of Fort Myers Beach who is interested in serving as a volunteer to advise and support Town government? Islanders are encouraged to get involved and bring new and fresh ideas by serving on one of the Town’s eight citizen advisory boards and committees. Volunteer members are currently sought for the Community Resource Advisory Board (CRAB) and the Local Planning Agency (LPA).

The Local Planning Agency serves as the Town’s planning board whose broad objectives are to further the welfare of the citizens of the Town, promote a more healthful, safe and attractive community environment, and ensure that the unique, natural characteristics of the island are preserved. The LPA also serves as the Town’s Historic Preservation Board. Two openings are available on this board.

The Community Resource Advisory Board promotes and implements public education, leadership, volunteerism, beautification, and recreation through the development and cultivation of a corps of community leaders and volunteers. Two openings are available on this board.

More information about the various boards and committees are on this website. Appointments are made when vacancies occur and annually in October for all vacancies as terms expire.
