Town staff continues to monitor the beach for algae and fish washing ashore. Due to nesting birds fish removal (by hand) has taken place the onsite supervision of Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission in the Critical Wildlife Area (CWA). Lee County is managing fish removal from the north end of the island and the clean-up is almost complete. The Town will be raking from just outside of the Critical Wildlife Area to the pier to remove tire treads on the beach from as a result of the clean-up operations. Boating crews have cleaned from Fishtail marina to the south end of the island daily as the tides are bring in additional fish daily.
