Flood Awareness Week is annually set by the Florida Floodplain Manager's Association and FEMA to promote the National Flood Insurance Program. The Town voluntarily participates in this program that helps residents protect themselves against flood loss through the purchase of flood insurance at reduced insurance premium rates. This program also sets higher regulatory standards to
reduce flood risk and potential flood damage.
